1st june (1846) : Death of the pope Gregory XVI at Rome at 81 years old.

2 june (1835) : Giuseppe Melchiore Sarto borned at Riese in Venetia. He became pope the 4th of august, 1903, under the name of Pius X.

3 june (1963) : The pope John XXIII died in the Vatican at 81 years old.

4 june (1738) : George III, future sovereign of the United Kingdom, born at Norfolk House in London.

5 june (1316) : Death of Louis X called the Hutin at Vincennes. 

6 june (1944) : D-DAY - First day of the landing of the allies in Normandy. 

7 june (421) : Marriage of the emperor Theodosius II with Eudocia.

8 june (1637) : Publication at The Hague of the "Discours de la Méthode pour bien conduire sa raison et chercher la vérité dans les sciences", first philosophical text from René Descartes.

9 june (AD 68) : Suicide of Nero, fifth and last roman emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty.

10 june (BC 323) : Death of Alexander IIIrd the Great at 33 years old at Babylon.

11 june (1903) : The king of Serbia Alexander 1st Obrenovitch and the queen Draga are murdered at the royal palace of Belgrade by a group of 28 officers close to the rival dynasty, the Karageorgévitch.

12 june (1042) : Constantine IX, son of Theodosius Monomachos, became Byzantine emperor the day after his marriage with the Empress Zoe.

13 june (1886) : Othon Valdemar of Wittelsbach, son of the king Maximilien II of Bavaria, youngest brother of the king Louis II of Bavaria, became king of Bavaria few days after the death of his brother.

14 june (1544) : Death of Antoine of Lorraine, duke of Lorraine and Bar from 1508 until his death, at Bar-le-Duc.

15 june (1467) : Philip III, duke of Burgundy, called Philip the Good, died at Bruges at 71 years old.

16 june (1846) : Giovanni Maria Mastai Ferretti is elected pope and took the name of Pius IX.

17 june (1025) : Boleslas Ier the Valiant, first Polish sovereign to be crowned king, died at 57 years old.

18 june (741) : Constantine V, son of Leon III the Isaurien, became emperor at 23 years old.

19 june (936) : Louis IV of Outremer is crowned king of the Francs at Laon.

20 june (1837) : The queen Victoria gain access to the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland at 18 years old.

21 june (1791) : Escape of Varennes. The french king Louis XVI, the queen Marie-Antoinette and their children try to run away, they are recognized and arrested at Varennes-en-Argonne.

22 june (BC 168) : Battle of Pydna. The Macedonian king Perseus fight against the Roman general Aemilius Paullus. This battle will end the third Macedonian war.

23 june (1703) : Birth of Marie Leszczynska at Trzebnica (Silésie - Poland). She is the future wife of Louis XV and will be queen of France from 1725 until 1768.

24 june (474) : Flavius Julius Nespos is proclaimed Auguste. He was overthrowned one year later.

25 june (1928) : End of the germinal Franc set up in 1803 during the great monetary reform.

26 june (363) : Death of the Roman Emperor Julian II the Philosopher on the battle field. He was leading a brilliant campain against the Sassanid.

27 june (1462) : Birth of Louis XII, future king of France from 1498 to 1514, at the castle of Blois.

28 june (1762) : Catherine II of Russia became Empress of Russia until her death in 1796.

29 june (1900) : Birth of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, french writer, poet and aviator, at Lyon.

30 june (1470) : Birth of Charles VIII the Affable, king of France from 1483 until 1498, at the castle of Amboise.
