Dear ,
We are pleased to present a new selection of medals, including several Vatican medals in bronze and silver.
Among the older medals, you will discover a medal commemorating the closing of the Holy Door on the occasion of the Holy Year under Pope Alexander XI, probably produced in the course of the 19th century, as well as a medal symbolising the stability of the Roman world, a work by Ferdinand de Saint-Urbain, notably known for his medals relating to Lorraine.

The selection also includes a fine silver medal commemorating the 6th centenary of the canonisation of Saint Thomas Aquinas, bearing the effigy of Pope Pius XI and referenced in the work of Vincenzo Cusumano and Adolfo Modesti.
We invite you to discover the full selection of today’s medals on our website.
Among the auctions currently online, we would also like to draw your attention to a selection of 128 Lorraine tokens presented in the Internet Auction – February 2026. This sale notably includes a fine silver token for Catherine of Lorraine (1586), as well as an interesting series of copper tokens bearing the three alerions of Lorraine, including an example with a dated dexter hand (15)79.

Some of these tokens, although bearing the same date, display variations in legend, punctuation or motifs, notably in the presence or absence of laurel wreaths, as can be observed on two copper tokens of Claude of France, Duchess (1563).

Among our many auctions currently online, you may take part in our e-auction, with starting prices from €1, our Internet Auction, or our Live Auction, for which the printed catalogue can be sent to you upon request.
Thank you for collecting with CGB Numismatique Paris !
