In addition to this selection, we invite you to explore our thematic Gold Auction. As every year, Cgb.fr highlights its selection of gold coins and medals throughout August. The Internet Auction OR August 2026 features 138 lots, with starting prices generally set close to the current gold value. Among the highlights is this slabbed medal depicting Napoleon III, issued for the Imperial Asylum of Le Vésinet. Offered with an attractive starting price of €2,800, it weighs 29 g and bears the French "pointing hand" hallmark, generally indicating a fineness of 916‰.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming Internet Auction August 2026, beginning on 4 August 2026. The sale will feature a selection of 440 medals, predominantly French. It celebrates the richness of French medallic art, from the uniface electrotype of Diane de Poitiers to a 1996 calendar medal, including medals of the Third Republic such as this beautiful creation by Pierre-Charles Lenoir paying tribute to Alfred de Musset. The sale offers an excellent overview of French medal production from the seventeenth century to the present day.
